This Week in Sewtopia, The Sew and Sew Newsletter Continues

The quilt of the day, a 58 x 72 cover that is themed with Autumn colors. Made entirely from bits and pieces of left over Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs, and yardage cuts.

I finished this quilt a while ago but not sure if I shared it on the blog. A simple setting over all with the center panel set on the bias. Followed by two inner borders and a pieced 5 border extension. I used the left overs of three charm packs and 3 remaining pieces of jelly roll cuts.

I have always loved yellow roses. Google defines the meaning of these beauties as a symbolizing joy, friendship and new beginnings. So, new beginnings it is!

I recently received a beautiful marking sampler from Hands Across the Sea Samplers, Georgiana Caroline Williams. I decided to give this one a try soon. My detailed samplers are just too much for my eyes right now. I always make working copies of my projects. I mark the finished areas with a yellow marker so that I can more easily find my place when I resume. No matter how hard I have tried, I am struggling with finding my groove with cross stitch. I have tried in-hand but that just does not work for me.

I am using the black on white high contrast color for this one since there are no motifs to deal with.

My Gerbara daisy's continue to put up blooms despite 2 overnight freezes and my poor watering habits. I thought Summer was over!

A view from the Outer Banks, beauty at its best.

  • As I continue to work on the newsletter format, I want to send a shout out to my friend Terri! She has been an inspiration for some time. Right now she is busy with health related issues, my best wishes to her.
  • I think the newsletter will be weekly, maybe with a bump once a week. A short spot so to speak. Much of this depends on time and formatting limitations for me because I do this all myself, this is not a supported or hosted site, there are no ads and never will be. Political subjects will not be offered or tolerated.
  • It will not be just quilting, the subjects will be as diverse.
  • Until next time.
